green juice 'sangreena' recipe
why are you so green, sangria?
All month long we're showing some LOVE to pineapple! This easy recipe uses one of our favorite juices, Pineapple Greens. Made with cucumber, pineapple, mint, kale, parsley and lemon, it's not the first ingredient you would imagine for a sangria, but there's nothing wrong with taking a little guilt out of the pleasure of summertime sangria!
Like all sangrias, this one gets even better when it sits for a few hours (or overnight), but if you don't have the patience, it will still be delicious if you just mix and go! (TIP: use frozen grapes instead of ice cubes to keep your sangria from being watered down.)
1 bottle white wine (we like pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc)
1 small Pineapple Greens juice
2 T granulated sugar
4 ounces orange liqueur
2 fresh limes, sliced
1 fresh orange, sliced
1 cup club soda, chilled
1 small bunch green grapes, frozen
Combine the juice, wine, sugar, orange liqueur and sliced limes and orange and stir to combine. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
When it's time to serve, add the club soda and frozen grapes to the sangria. Add ice to each glass and fill with sangria, adding a few slices of the soaked fruit and grapes to the glasses. Enjoy!
